The team behind the popular Filmic Pro camera app for iPhone was reportedly laid off by its parent company, bending Spoons, putting the future of the filmmaking tool into question.
「Filmic Pro」の開発チームが解雇
「Filmic Pro」は2022年9月に「Bending Spoons」が買収しました。「Bending Spoons」は、2022年11月にEvernoteを買収した会社でもあります。
「Filmic Pro」は買収後にサブスクリプションモデルに変更されていましたが、1年が経過し、チームは解体され、事実上の開発終了が伝えられています。創業者兼CEOを含むチーム全員が解雇されました。
「Filmic Pro」はAppleのイベントにも登場するような有名なアプリだったのですが、まさかこのような終わりがやってくるとは‥‥「Evernote」も無料ユーザーは1個のノートブックと最大50個のノートに制限がされました。
アプリを買収し、サブスクリプションなどの課金を試みて、うまくいけば継続、ダメなら終了‥‥という戦略なのでしょうか。
